Hi, Everyone :hi:

Please grade and price this 1919-S Standing Liberty Quarter if you like. Comments are also welcome. :) I will list the grade on the 1"x1" and price later.

It was bought RAW by my Sainted Mother back in the Silver Craze of 1980 at the local mall coin shop.

If she bought it near melt, she probably paid $8-10 for it back then. If so, she certainly got a good deal despite the damaged surfaces.

The coin looks XF to me. I don't know what the marks on the reverse would do to the value.

The 1919-S is a better date in the SLQ's set.

Hi, Oldtrader3 :hi:

Well, as far as I know that day in late March 1980 was the only time my mother ever stepped foot in a coin shop. She wanted to get in on the "action of that silver craze". She paid top dollar for this coin. I was not aware of her adventure until about a year later.

Hi, Dooly :hi:

This coin is really not that bad. The black stuff on the reverse can be removed, I think. Thank you for your comments.

Don't try to remove anything on the coin! Any cleaning will ruin the piece.
