Here is another one that is one of my most rare coins, this coin was my father's favorite and I can see why. 1850 Coronet Eagle Gold, Graded as MS 62, only one better registered through PCGS and/or NGC.

This is the premier coin of our collection.

this is my rarest coin, sorry i had to scan it.

the obverse side of slab is hazy becuase the thing to light matches on the book scratched it

Matches? Trying a little "in-slab" tone experiment? :o

Some really wonderful rarities on here gentleman. I don't own any rare coins or anything else rare as a matter of fact.

Unless you count "condition rarity," or errors, I don't have any rare U.S. coins, but if I'm allowed to include trade tokens, my main collecting focus, I have several R10's (1-3 known) and quite a few R6 - R9. :)

As promised, here are some pics. Actually, most of my attempts turned out to be bright blobs.

The Dulweber 25c is an R10 (1-4)

The Browns Farm 50c is an R8 (10-24)

I tried several more, but the pics were too bright to see the details. :P

Rarest? Great Britain 1958 1/2d VIP Proof. Mintage unknown. Estimated mintage 8-30. If anyone has a more precise mintage please let me know. I contacted the British Mint a few years ago and they said they don't know the mintage either.

Many nice coins, guys. Rey, that 1850-O eagle is one terrific gold coin that I would be most proud to own! Even looking at it makes me smile.

Here is a not so good scan of an 1863, MS64 Trime struck by proof dies, althought the scan does not show the PL fields.

I don't currently own it, but I'm the one who found it at a coin show in Las Vegas several years ago (I bought it really cheap). Breen mistakenly listed this as an 1804 C3 variety, but it is now widely recognized as a very early die state C5 before the spiked chin damage occured. Breen listed this as R8 with "only two seen" at the time his Half Cent Encyclopedia was published, and this one has better detail than the one in his book. I think a couple others have turned up over the years, but it is still prohibitively rare.
