2001-P Sacagawea Experimental Rinse...grade is in..

One Dollar - it even says One Dollar on the back. What was it rinsed with? Looks kind of nasty. :sick:

 

I believe it was an experimental anti-tarnishing agent that the US Mint tried in order to keep the coins from turning that ugly brown color we see on so many circulated Sacagaweas.

 

Shane, the Experimental Rinse coins have a very distinctive color difference as opposed to the regular coins.

 

Stefanie, where did you come across this coin? Did you buy it, find it in a roll, etc.?

I bought it already slabbed. It looked like it would grade high. And I guessed right for a change
