conserving a large cent

2 posts in this topic

Hello Chriss,

I have an 1851 Large Cent with just a small spot of verdigris(I think) on the reverse. From this photo(realizing without having it inhand you couldn't be perfectly sure), do you think it could be removed. It doesn't look like it is embedded yet, \

Thanks for your time

Jim

This spot is particularly difficult to comment on. I can say that we probably would be able to reduce the appearance of the spot and take steps to prevent it from becoming worse. I am not sure based on this image if we would be able to remove the spot completely. Actually seeing the coin could change assessment.
