I cannot seem to get it - 1883 Shield Proof

I cannot seem to get my camera to like this coin in photographs

Any Ideas

Have one light shining tangentally to the coin and hold a second light free-handed and move it around until you like what you see.

Are you using diffused lighting? For example, you might suspend a sheet of white paper between the light bulb and the coin, close to the light bulb, and then angle the coin appropriately.

Jeff -- Try positioning your lights at an angle that's high to the coin. You can see what I mean by looking at the reflection of the lights on the slabs in these pictures.
