Hey...you're right. That dude is General Bernardo O'Higgins and he does look smug but he is 1/2 responsible for Chile's independence back in the early 18whatevers.

 

The night they shut down he border between Peru and Chile (New Year's Eve) 1978, we got stuck on the Chile side and had to drive back to Arica and spend the night at a casino. We won about 200 of these darned 1 peso coins and couldn't GIVE them away. We finally converted them to Peruvian soles..which weren' worth a heck of a lot more.
