Hey, ANT. CHARON beat me to this one but the Maria Theresa Thalers were restruck in large quantities begining in 1853 and I believe they still are. I believe the original coins were trade pieces between nations. I also think it is quite a pretty coin. I have several in the bank box, 2 of which I rescued from PVC with Acetone thanks to the help of several members who walked me through the process a month or so ago. There is just over 3/4 oz of silver in these puppies.
