Cased medals

Cases are cool and can mean better-than-average condition medals, but read on.

 

I had visions of matching a few Wiener medals to the two that came with this case,

but I fear that might require scrubbing or dipping those that I have! :o

 

What say ye surface experts? Both medals are quite reflective but the color is

blotchy/odd (the other medal's obverse has a bright brassy look that's tough to capture).

That one looks like a previous dip gone bad to me. It looks like someone didn't rinse it off properly.

 

I agree about cased medals - it adds a certain coolness factor to them. Just like I prefer US commems in their original cases, I would prefer (obviously as often as possible) to get medals in their original presentation cases.
