1843 SEATED LIBERTY DOLLAR ! ! !

I scored this bad boy at 7-11 yesterday from some drunk. I gave him 2 dollars and some change for it. When I got home I jumped online to find out what it's worth. SCORE ! Check it out. I'm in need of suggestions for getting it graded. Any help is much appreciated.

from all the searching i did the thing is legit. the guy i got it from at the 7-11 was about to spend it. he said he had the thing taped in his wallet and it was probably worth 600 bux.

Said it was worth $600 but sold it for $2.00. That sounds like a fake to me.

The date looks good [see real one below], however the surfaces of the coin look cast.

Decent Chinese cast counterfeits usually go for at least $10, so I think he got a deal.

 

The marks on Liberty's stomach and thighs are probably diagnostics for that particular counterfeit. You may want to search eBay for other 1843 dollars and see if others have the same marks.
