Waiting To Search Monroe Dollar Rolls

According to this article the US Mint confirmed that 70,000 to 140,000 James Monroe dollars from the Philadelphia Mint were accidentally struck on quarter planchets. The coins were found by a company rolling the coins under contract to the Mint.

 

The Mint claims none have been sent to the banks, where they will be available on February 14. But because the Mint does not think they have been sent out, does not mean none have escaped.

 

I will be visiting my local banks looking for Monroe dollar rolls. If nothing else, I will have dollar coins for the soda machine!!

I would very much like to find a couple of those. I saw a blip in Coin World about it. I will see if the local banks have them when I get back to land, and will buy a couple rolls.
