I am going to try to offer this excellent coin here, as I am really wanting it to go to a "good Home" :-)

 

I am having to sell the STAR of my collection.

It is a 1946 D over inverted D Jefferson Nickel. VP-001

It is graded MS 66 5 Full Steps by NGC.

 

It is tied for finest known at NGC, and PCGS has only graded 11 Full Step MS 66 examples, so this is a very rare variety indeed.

 

It is in the Cherrypickers Guide as FS-031, where they say it is the second rarest Nickel variety of the original top 10 Jefferson varieties, second only to the 1942 D over Horizontal D.

I have set a minimal reserve (set at the book value of a normal ms 66)
