QUESTION: Mintmarks on USA coins typically are punched or sculpted. Name at least one issue for which the mintmark was hand engraved into the working die?

..... My guess would be the 1838-O Half Dollar... first year of issue of half dollars in the New Orleans mint. Then again, it very well could be the 1838-O dime.

.....Hand engraved mint marks... that's a new one for me. confused.gif

ANSWER: 1854-O Huge O quarter, 1870-S silver dollar or 1870-S three-dollar piece.
