NGC Imaging?

I have an order in currently and had requested the imaging service. Does anyone know if they photograph the coins or are they just using a scanner? This is being discussed in US Coins but I thought we might get an answer straight from the horses mouth as it were.

On that subject, what if I send a bunch of coins and I get very very lucky and one grades in MS-68-69-70, could there be a way to get it imaged...before...it is shiped out to me??

You would need to request "Imaging" on your submission form when you send you coins in for grading, if you do not request this then the coins will not be imaged.
