Anyone have any green WORLD copper to share?

yarm! what coins r those? i have 1 that is far to beat up and would like to find 1 that would be a good display pc like yours! wow!

These coins are a British mint state halfpenny of 1799 (PCGS Tru-View) and a cameo proof

halfpenny and penny of 1806.

 

Such coins are good examples of how reflective coins can look very different

depending on the photographic methods used. These were taken to bring out the color by "flashing"

the fields much as you would if you turned a coin to the light. I believe the second coin has some

residue on its surfaces that helps create the irridescent effect (but wasn't severe enough to keep it

from being graded.)

 

The last image is the same 1806 penny photographed more "head on" to eliminate the color

in the fields but highlight the cameo effect.
