Reeded Edge varieties

7 posts in this topic

Jules Reiver wrote a Variety Identification Manual for RE halves, but it has very few images, does not discern between varieties all that well on a consistent basis, is out-of-print and is not easy to use. However, Heritage has made available on their website a copy of the VIM and it is linked in every RE half lot.

Generally speaking, there is little information out there that could be considered accurate with respect to the scarcity of individual die marriages for the RE series. The reason for this is that few folks ever attribute their RE halves. If the Reiver VIM were to be re-written, expanded and furnished with superb images then I believe collecting by die marriage would gain a better footing for this series.
