John,

You'll be imaging it at FUN.

Here are a few newer purchases from Pittsburgh:

I also picked up a few others - from different sources:

The following were a friend's - at auction.

Genuine: Code 97 - I really don't care - it's going in the Dansco

PCGS 25

The following two coins are duplicates - but I couldn't let

these two coins go for a song. As it is, I only paid 75%

of what the other two cost - and the same thing happened

with the two above. My friend's auction wasn't that great

and I didn't want him to loose money.

Just added a really nice 1902-Philadelphia

and although I am on a new iPad - and I really

don't know if I can attach an image or not - well,

it looks like I can't.

Will edit this when get near my old desk top.

While at the Baltimore Convention, I spotted this on eBay...

and I was hesitant to crack out the new VF 30 ... and this

one will do just fine [ its a VG ] for the Dansco:

I also bought a bakers dozen more Barber Halves,

but I need to get them imaged.

Nice 1904 but I think I would have held out for a better mint mark. Is that typical for a VG to have a mushed MM? I would think it's somewhat protected down into Good, no? hm

Jom,

I recently bought a 1904-S in VF 30 and I have been hesitant to crack it out

for the Dansco. The VG 10 [ yes, the MM is mushy, but its an S MM ] is 1/10th

the value of the VF 30. So... it gets the Dansco and the VF 30 gets a reprieve.

I just won another Half for the Dansco... and now, I'm down to ten dates needed:

Well, I'm sure it's an S MM if PCGS says so...that wasn't my question. I just wondered if the date was typically bad on MMs or was it wear? I'd guess the former rather than the latter.... hm

Jom,

I think the 1904-S Halves had decently struck MM's.

I believe it was post mint circulation damage. I had another

04-S in an ANACS 25 holder - long since sold - that also

had a bit of post mint damage... the S almost looked like $

with a tick running thru the S.

My better one that sold at the Chicago HA Auction:

Just picked this up from Fred Weinberg off the Bay...

PCGS Plastic - AU 50

5% Off Center

Fred said he had never seen an O/C 12-S Dime

and up until this evening, neither had I.

The mark on the obverse is on the holder.

I plan on having the coin reholdered because

it doesn't have the right Mint Designation !!

A newp that I was hoping to have professionally imaged - however

a friend asked that I post an image of the coin as he isn't familiar

with Die Capped coins.

Please excuse the terrible image, I bought an iPhone 4G immediately

before they upgraded it ... story of my life...lol

I just found another tough coin for the Dansco...

1903-P PCGS VF 20 ... believe me, its a very under rated date.
