I use a Canon 50D with OttLite lighting. I'm currently using a Tamron telephoto lens. It's not optimal, but it has a good macro focusing range (but somewhat poor glass). I'm waiting for my bellows and adapters to arrive to set up properly for macro photography. The Otts made a big difference for the imaging, but I still need to build a proper mounting bracket for the lamps so I have more control of their positioning. It's been a fun learning process...

Ah, my old friend, Mme Broadstruck Barber... still love it.

Looks like all that collection direction changing has affected your memory a bit as you used to own the 97-S Broadstrike, not the 98-O :P

Here's 1 of the 2 Plate Coins in David Lawrence Barber Quarter 2ND Edition Book Error Section.

It's the only non Philly, Branch Mint Barber Quarter Error Known formally belonging to Larry Briggs.

A San Francisco minted 1907 now PCGS AU58 5% Off Center, formally in a SEGS MS63 15% Off Center holder.

Wow with friends like you guys who needs... Oh never mind! :D

I had about a dozen Barber dime errors, but once I found this one I sold all the others.

Broadstruck,

I love your newer 1901 O/C Dime; I have a nice AU58 myself

of the same date - and I have seen many more 1901 off- centers.

It must have been one malfunctioning press that year to produce

so many errors. I would guess a misalignment of the dies caused

the problems. Many seemed to escape from the Mint in Philadelphia

that year.

I should get in touch with Larry about the off center Quarter. Very neat

coin and would be a great addition to my Barber Error Collection.

BTW, B/S, in my dotage, I still remember which Broadstruck Half I used

to own, yes I remember the 97-S too well. I 'll reserve comment on it

as I don't know who owns it - or - if you're trying to sell it. However,

when I said you've taunting me with the 1898 B/S, you know you have

{ and, I love it !! }

While at FUN, a young man came to Glenn's table with a very unusual V Nickel,

it was an 1899 in an NGC 45 Holder - split planchlet . I had hoped he had the

other half, but, no such luck. I still need to get it imaged.

My more recent Barber Half set is 99.% complete, I just sent in 8 ANACS coins

for cross over - and I have to still send in a Mechanical Error ( I bought an 1895 Phila

issue, in PC 45, but the label says it's an 1895-O ! ) so that needs to go back for correction.

Lastly I have a few other ANACS Barber Halves, I neglected to bring with me to FUN for

cross over. I have one coin in this set I refuse to sell, as it's one of the prettiest Barber Halves

I have ever owned, my 1893-S in PCGS 53. So, I need to pick up a duplicate for that date.

Well, Happy Hunting everyone !!

Elbesaar, I guess you missed the "formally" in Larry Brigg's collection part, as I've owned this for 6-7 years. Quarter errors are the scarcest of all Barbers and in the last decade including your 1898 die cap there have only been 5 examples on the market all Philly's except this 07-S. Your 1898 is the only UNC error known and next to my AU58, there's a AU55 1900 and a F-15 1901. Also a 1902 or 1903 as I recall in a NCS holder that had more issues then the slab label could list. The PCGS 5% Off Center F-15 sold on EBay for $2899.00 about 1 1/2 years ago which shows you how tough these are compared to dimes.

Picked this beauty up because they are tough to find in any mid range grade.

As it turns out, I have another in the same grade and one ten points nicer. :luhv:

SWEET !!!

Very nice coin and I would venture its an AU 58.

Based on the sale of mine last August, you should

do extremely well when you decide to sell.
