1829 Bust half with over strike on rim

3 posts in this topic

I'm sure you all are aware that bust half has an inscription on the rim of the coin that says "50 cents or half a dollar" on the rim of the coin. I have a 1829 half that has the half/cents or half/or stamped over one another. Does this add to the value of the coin? I googled it and I couldn't find any info. The coin itself is in XF/AU condition.

No, it does not really add any value. the only edges that add value are the 1809 XXX and III edges. Your edge would be interesting to have, but edge errors are rather common. TPG's don't even designate edge errors on holders.
