1924 Peace $ VAM?

1 post in this topic

Since it seems rather difficult to join ATS, figured I would throw this out there (while I am waiting for ATS and still interested) . I posted this in the Peace $ thread before, but just want to make sure anyone who may know, sees it.

This looks like VAM-1H R6 to me. Anyone confirm? Die break in hair above ear (squiggly diagonal line that is visible, I always had thought that it was a bag mark). There is also a die line at the base of the neck. this coin looks to have been struck from heavily filed dies. Much of the reverse lettering is illegible. There is also some sort of die marks at P in Pluribus. The toning is extensive, and may be the result of the surfaces being very rough, and maybe almost coral-like. Any way, I have always thought this coin to be down right ugly, but after examining it a little more, it is actually rather fascinating.

My other question would be, if this actually is a VAM-1H, does it really matter?
