Coin collecting for dummies -- book

5 posts in this topic

I got this book about 2 years ago and I got to say its a great book. Even for an experienced numismatist. It goes over how to store your coins, the best way to keep your coins, counterfeit detection, grading, and it explains in detail about many coins, from gold, to copper, to silver, to even ancients and has a big section on it.

I found it very helpful. It's written by Ron Guth, who is now president of PCGS.

Does anyone else have this book?

This was actually my first coin book. I got it for Christmas one year, and got the Red book shortly after. This was about 10 years ago now, and I learned alot from it. I find that I still sometimes pick it up and reread sections, just because the info is so good.
