E-Bay pictures

Just curious...and for future reference, is it legal to copy pictures off of E-Bay listings for inclusion in posts here? I'm not sure if they become the legal property of E-Bay or the seller posting them, or, if cut/paste on to BB's is allowed.

The images belong to the seller posting them. Technically a cut and paste would not be legal but as long as you are not using them to profit from there is not much likelihood of a problem. A link TO his images on the other hand is generally considered acceptable because although the image appears here, it does not reside here but is still under his control. If he removes it from his site, it disappears here as well. I see it as analogous to one of us pointing it out to others while it still sits in the dealers case. We can see it but we don't have control of the image or what happens with it. If you copy it to your own site and post it here then you have "taken" it for your own use and a copyright violation has occurred.
