They look pretty clean as far as marks....what do you grade them in hand?

Surprisingly, both have DMPL surfaces under the toning.

 

The '78 is AU, but I'm really curious to know what it would look like without the hazy surfaces. It also has strong doubling, even tripling, on both the obverse and reverse. That's why I like the 8TF's.

 

The '85, on the other hand, is probably 62 and the mirrors are really deep on the reverse. They're present on the obverse, but it's hard to judge the depth of the mirrors through the toning. The amber color seems to glow from the mirrors beneath.

 

It's too bad I have such lousy photographic skills.
