U.S coins of the 20th century!!

Does anyone know what this set is?......It states "U.S coins of the 20th century"..from 1900-1971........25 diff. silver dollars,half dollars,quarters etc.........**back says guaranteed value( by M.S. Horchow) from purchase date to be $59.95 ??.....pur. in1973....... Thank you, Brian H......

Without a picture I can only surmise that this is one of the myriad after-market holders that were produced in the 1970s and sold to the general public. Quite often, the coins included in these sets were heavily polished before they were sold and the coins have, over time, taken on color from the polish residue. If the coins were polished or otherwise abused then these are worth little over melt.

They're still cranking "theme collections" out by the boatload. Most are from marketing boiler-room operations that target the unwary public, with a heavy emphasis on publications that seniors tend to read, but even Littleton does it.
