Nice ones Wayne. Sorry I don't have any info on the interesting piece. Please let us know what you find out. Look at the 1906 IHC closely for an overdate. Should be evident at the bases of the date.

Very interesting Farthing. It is not a Bungtown, it IS and evasion piece, but it is NOT listed in Cobwright. Both the obv and reverse dies are listed but there is no record of this particular muling. So you have apparently discovered a new variety, even though you didn't know it.

The obv die is either G.0765 or G.768

G.0765 has the second word as PELLEW, G.0768 has it as PEL-LEW. I can't tell from your image which it is. (By the way the first word is GLORIOUS not GLORIOVS If it was GLORIOVS it would be G.0840, G.0845, or G.0860 and still a new variety)

According to Cobwright G.0765 only comes matched with B.0085 with the inscription BERTEN NAI

G.0768 comes matched with B.0890 inscribed BRITISH TARS and with N.0260 inscribed NORTH WALES

The rev die is most likely B.0945 It is the only rev that starts with BRITONS that is dated 1776. It should read BRITONS RULE and the exergue lie should be doubled which it is. Surprisingly it doesn't reference the doubled 1. (From looking at the other listings Cobwright only references overdates and not repunched date unless they are needed to tell to similar dies apart. Since this is the only die with that inscription dated 1776 they don't mention the repunching.)

B.0945 only comes paired with G.0085 inscribed GEORGE GORDON

This new mule would be G.0765/B.0945

Don't get too excited over the new discovery. It is still a great thrill, but there is still a lot of work that remains to be done on the English copper from the last quarter of the 18th century and new varieties are still being discovered especially in the thinly collected series such as the Evasives. A decent Evasive is usually worth in the 20 to 30 dollar range (Decent is a relative term. These coins were MADE to look heavily worn,) A very rare one might go for as much as a hundred. A discovery piece maybe $150. The last two prices are just guesses since I don't specialize in the series. If you wish I can put you in touch with a copper specialist dealer who does collect the series and who would know more about it than I do.

Your very welcome, and lucky, there are only about 50 - 60 copies of the Cobwright book out in circulation. I have copy #33. It is rather rare to find someone who has one. I'll send you info on the speacilist by either PM or mail, whichever this forum supports.
