Completed my 7070 Nickels!!

3 posts in this topic

I’ve been working on my 7070 for a little over two years now and recently completed my nickels, so I thought I’d share. I’m rather pleased of how they turned out. While my collecting tastes and knowledge have grown over the period, luckily my early purchases didn’t turn out so bad IMO. The 1868, 1911 and 1938-D are ex-PCGS, while the rest were purchased raw. While the journey netted no real stories of significance to share, there will be my little memories of: among my first on-line auction wins, to searching through a whole box of graded 38-Ds, to spending the better part of a show searching out my $7 war nickel (and finding a dealer who had an original role to pick from), to finding the T-1 Buff for a bargain (dealer was selling it as an MS60)to the Eureka moment when I found a well struck shield w/rays. So, here they are. Comments welcome.
