Who owns a coin post?

If someone from the forum posts a really neat idea or idea for a product and NGC or PCGS develops the idea or product, does the poster get a piece of the action? Such as rainbow style colors for a coins slab? Can this idea be trademarked or copyrighted?

An idea can't be copyrighted, but a business plan for an idea can as well as technical plans for a device. It could also be patented, if it is an actual device. Trademarks refer to logos and service marks refer to slogans.

 

You would hold the copyright, not NGC or PCGS. But don't be surprised if someone else jumps on it and tries to cut you out.
