Cracked Prez??

After 27 days in the mail my proof presidents finally arrived. I honestly was hoping that they just wouldn’t show up, but they did. Just like a lot of you fellow boardsman, I’m not happy with mine either, scratches, what looks like finger prints, bad packaging. The only interesting thing was this one, a nice crack. My question is, has anyone else seen this or heard of it, just wondering if it was common. Any comments would be appreciated.

To me, it looks like it is below the surface, not raised.

 

My best guess is that the planchet had a bad scratch before stamping it....
