  1. Wow! Thats amazing to see! I was actually trying to find another image with this same counterstamp but didn’t have any luck. The stamp is slightly different but most likely the same person. I’m 99% sure this refers to a person name Henry Barrett Crosby. I learned that amongst other things he was a wholesale grocer and I learned it was fairly common for store owners to mark their money. He also worked for Samuel Colt for a period of time. Do you have any other information about that coin? A link to its sale? Etc
  2. Looking for some opinions regarding potential authenticity of this coin? I believe the counterstamp is from Henry Barrett Crosby of Paterson, NJ. Here is his history. Time period works and my family is from Paterson. http://files.usgwarchives.net/nj/passaic/bios/crosby-hb.txt Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated!
  3. Thanks so much for taking the time to answer and give advice. I believe the coin is authentic also but will take it to a local dealer.
  4. I was hoping that someone could give me some feedback about potential authenticity of this coin before I spend the money to have it authenticated. Thanks so much for your time!
