  1. StinkyCheese1, the way this post works is you follow the specific type of coin, e.g. in this case Franklins (half dollars per se don't hack it), or you follow the date. For example I can follow the above post with a Franklin or some coin dated 1960, let's say a Lincoln. In this case, I kind of feel like following a 1960 Franklin with a 1961.

  2. Boy I sure wish I would have gobbled them up in the early nineties when I started with them. Who knew (with the exception of Rick Tomaska). confused.gif

Actually the top notch slabbed ones back then were MUCH more expensive than they are now. As the population figures have climbed, the values have decreased... basic Economics 101. My '49-D is a case in point. Of course, I have yet to see a nicer one.

  3. Christmas in April... as Austin Powers would say, "YEAH BABY!"

I just got a package in the mail with 8 PCGS slabbed, envelope toned Franklins. They are not killer color, but they are quite pretty... kind of an opalescent look to them. All of them are technically nice for the grade. Six are definite keepers, and the other 2, while nice, kind of depend on what I drop at Santa Clara. The 2 I'm not sure about are 1959 and 1960, both MS65. The 6 definite keepers are 1950 MS65FBL, 1953 MS65FBL, 1954 MS65FBL, 1961 MS65, 1962 MS65, 1963 MS65. The 1950 and the 1953 DEFINITELY rock.

As Howard Dean would say, "YEEEEHAAAAA!"

  4. DD, that's a NICE '46 Walker!!! thumbsup2.gif

    Rrantique, fun coins! thumbsup2.gif

Ron, that matched pair DEFINITELY deserves a "You Suck". hail.gif Are they NH hoard coins?

TR, that's a real nice looking Monroe, which is almost a contradiction in terms. Good going! thumbsup2.gif

Boy Victor, that is one of the nicest SLH's I've ever seen. Gorgeous toning, high grade, low mintage, this coin has it all. 893applaud-thumb.gif

I second Bob's emotion there Victor. That is definitely a YOWSAH of a coin!!! 893applaud-thumb.gif

  5. Nice '62 Chad! thumbsup2.gif

That is a nice 51 Bob!

Thanks, Bruce. Now believe it or not, but that one is a Ucam. Not a 68, but is an NGC UCam. Maybe for the year that is all the frost they need.

    I'm glad that it's a UCAM, Bob!

Here's mine, it's a NGC PR66Cameo. I'm guessing the one bit of frost fade is what's stopping it, because the frost and mirrors are sure worthy of dcam'ing. frustrated.gif

  6. First off, great copper coins everyone. 893applaud-thumb.gif

Second, thank goodness we've moved into the 20th century, although I thought the rules were it had to be copying the exact same type and or date, so going from Shield nickel to Buffalo nickel isn't kosher.

Third, here's a (1957-D) Lincoln and then a switch to Ben.

  7. No pics (need to send 'em off to Bruce) but I just bought 2 raw Peace dollars; a 1921 in ~MS62 with a Really Nice strike and a DDO 1934-D in ~MS62 (it's probably mechanical doubling, but it looks cool).

EDITED TO ADD: Well, whaddya' know, I'm not a VAM kind of guy, but some people recommended that I look at vamworld.com. It turns out that the coin is a 1934-D VAM-3 medium D DDO.

  8. A VERY nice grouping of coins and numismania!

Bruce, good going on the 1951 proof set!!! thumbsup2.gif Watch it, you may find the cameo series addictive! grin.gif BTW, what is an AUD pig?

123cents, that's a fun looking Feuchtwanger cent! What is the history with that coin? thumbsup2.gif

Dooly, I don't know what was in the rest of the coins that you got, but the 2 that you showed are Canadian. If you look one will have N. S. (Nova Scotia) and the other will have B. C. (British Columbia). Fun pieces! thumbsup2.gif

    rbrown4, Very nice 1890-S and 1856 1/2 dime! thumbsup2.gifthumbsup2.gif

  9. Nice coins Gents!

Lee, I quite like the '03 and the '58. Is the Liberty nickel on a copper planchet? I just saw one (1906) at my local coin club meeting on monday that was struck on an Indian head cent planchet. That '58 looks quite well struck for a '58-P BTW. I can't tell from the image if the lower bell lines are full, but given the rest of the coin I'm assuming they are. '58-P's with fbl are a significantly tougher coin to find (even given mintage differences) than '58-D's.
