  1. Thank you, I will look at the price guide. I will also look for a more current version of the standard catalog of world coins.
  2. I have never seen that commercial was it for bud light? I did just get back from the local coin store and they said the coins are gold.
  3. I was going through a lot of coins from a goodwill auction and found these two coins. I am slowly learning how to read Arabic dates on coins but the date on the ¼ Pahlavī does not make sense to me if I am reading it correctly it says 2539. the 1/4 Azadi has a date of 1370 (1991). they are both 16mm diameter and weigh 2.04g.each on my scale. I cannot get good photos with my "coin" microscope i bought from amazon (that barely works for coins) but I will dig it out and charge the battery if someone wants to see the date I read as 2539 up close. The price guide here has 2537 but no 2539. .
  4. I'd like to see what a real version of this coin looks like, every ancient coin I have had has been fake and had copy visible on it somewhere this one does not
  5. I have almost learned Arabic numbers by using google image search, I am not exactly new to coin collecting I did it as a kid in the late 70's last month it got kick started again when I went to a thrift store before going to the VA for an eye appointment and the had a box with coins for 50 cents each so I took most of the older British large cents dating back to 1879, they also had a shiny silver coin for 5 dollars that was an Iowa centennial coin that I thought was plated, when I took it out of the holder to look at it I noticed an inch of the reeded edge was smooth and it said "060 .999 F.S.". I will put the Guatemalan coin away and let my kids find it when they get all my stuff when I'm gone. I wasn't expecting much more that a 3$ premium for it being an error
  6. OK thanks, I already have this in a 2 x 2. I have a few other errors so I can start a page in the binder for foreign coin errors.
  7. This coin has me wondering if I have found something rare, I counted at least 5 die cracks. I am new here my name is Mike, this is the first coin I am thinking about getting graded but only if it is worth more than it will cost. hope everyone had a great weekend planned!
