I read an article about a mule clash on a Seated Quarter. I think it was an 1857. It was clashed with a fly eagle cent. It looked similar to one I thought I had seen on one of my coins but I couldn't remember which until I ran across it today. I was just curious to see if this is a normal clash. It's especially evident on each side of the eagles neck. Probably normal but thought I would ask. Thanks!

Hello. I have been trying to figure this one out. It looks beat up but it's still in the wrap from the mint. Looks like it's heavily clashed or maybe multi struck. It's difficult to see or photograph through the plastic. Any thoughts on what's going on with it? Should I remove it from the plastic? Thanks!

I am trying to fairly grade a few hundred wheat pennies that were left to me. This one represents what i think is a good average for the lot. Any opinions on it's grade and value would be appreciated. I purchased a red book but the prices seem a little high. I don't want to overcharge anyone but don't want to give them away either. Any advice on finding a fair value would also be appreciated. Thank you all very much!

I picked this up in change at the gas station and noticed something kind of odd about it. It appears to be heavily clashed, but some of the clash marks seem to be out of place. One thing i see is a straight vertical mark coming out of the right side roof of Monticello. I looked at an overlay and unless I am missing something, that area should be clear. Can anyone help me understand whats going on with it? The pics make it look beat up but the clerk opened a brand new roll of them to make change for me. Thank you very much

Very nice! If you think about it a little out of the box, it's Probably as rare as a mint state example. For a popular coin like the quarter to be circulated to that extent without a cut, qouge, ding, bend etc , is actually quite remarkable. If you don't mind my asking, how much do you think having it slabbed increased the value?

I guess maybe I should send this 1987, 2.5 gram wheat cent instead. Probably another prank by our favorite mint employee! I can't really make out the date but that does seem like a lot of weight loss from corrosion. Another post for another time I guess.

What if it is not all that complicated. Could someone somewhere along the line, have flipped a canadian penny into a vat of planchets? I did not originally post any pictures of the edge of the coin because I didn't expect controversy, but with the coin in hand it is evident that it was at one time multi sided. told my wife that said mint employee, if still alive, has Probably been wondering all these years when and if his coin might turn up somewhere. That being said, I did not intend to stir this pot. The info has been informative and appreciated. I will send it upstairs for confirmation one way or another and repost it when it is returned. That is absolutely how it happened. I can see your dilemma with my pictures however. The collar die rounded out most of the points on the original canadian coin and it is difficult to see on my pics. The queens bust nearly lines up with Lincolns. She is at at 11 to his 12 o'clock. Her hair bun is clearly visible behind his head just above erty. Na of regina is seen above the 1986 date. 198 can be found on the reverse just above the memorial. Just can't make out the last digit. I am sure you know but the canadian coin is struck in medal alignment so if you think of her bust at 11 and the position the canadian date on the reverse of the Lincoln it may help you locate it. I noticed something odd about this 86 cent this morning and handed it off to my wife to study as I left for work. She correctly identified it as a U.S. cent struck on a canadian cent. It has to be an 82 through 86 I think but I can't make out the date. I am hoping some of you youngsters with sharp eyes might help us out. Thank you all very much!

Good evening. I have several questions about this coin. I realize that most of the doubling on it is machine doubling, but there are two areas I am not sure about. The lower lip, possibly the nose, and the t in trust. I also am curious about the figure to the right of the mintmark. It is in relief. Thanks for taking the time to help me out!

I took this half out of a mint set thinking the plastic had discolored, making it hard to see the coin clearly. After removing it, I realized it wasn't the plastic. I know it looks like blurry pictures but this is what it actually looks like. I am wondering if it's just a weak strike and if the reverse could possibly be a doubled die? The M of America is where I see it best. Thanks for looking!

I found this nice looking 71d cent with some interesting features. Since I couldn't find a match on any of the regular sites, I assume the doubling I see on the eye, date and other devices has to me machine doubling. My question is, if one was lucky enough to find a previously unknown doubled die that was in the same class as some of the more famous ones, what would be the best way to handle it. I wouldn't now what to do with it. I know it's more than highly unlikely, but I am just curious. Thanks a bunch!

I ran across this 2009 coin and saw on it what I thought might be a mintmark. (enlarged.pic). I could not find it on any other coins of that date and was about to write it off as a die chip when i found it on a 1997 penny. . Any idea what it is? Also, is the 97 double died? It just looks odd. This doesn't concern the composition of the coin but i was wondering if you noticed the second ear North of the normal one and leaning to the left. I can't say for sure without a better pic but there may be remnants of a third one in the field just below In God.

I purchased this dime because of its rarity and the price seemed right. My question is about the post mint damage on it, mostly on the obverse near the bottom. I know almost nothing about grading but thought the coin, if it wasn't damaged would be considered a fairly decent example. Does the damage make it worthless or is there still some value? 1842o. I paid forty bucks. Thanks!
