Wow, yarm, that Crystal Palace medal is stunning!

Thanks, Marcel. This is exactly what I want all of my coins to look like

Nice coins, guys. I would love to see your finished Pontius Pilate collection, Thing!
Here are some of my new additions:
Trip to Egypt with the girlfriend:
Backward Chronological Order (view last to first)
I spent way under budget on that trip, which led to my first NEWP:
which lead to my other NEWPs and some pictures:
as well as re-imaging a couple of my favorites:
More definitely to come

Nice pick-up, Willie.
Another interesting note about these coins is that half of the mintage was melted down to make Olympic pesos. So about 100,000 survived.

I have some new purchases from TOREX show that I need to take pictures of. I'll post 'em tonight.

I agree, nice-looking Maundy set, ZAR. And who doesn't like 500-year-old gold
My last purchases (2 weeks ago), not counting coin books, are these:
I need to stop buying Railroad 5 Pesos, but I just can't resist it every time I see it being sold for less than $40. The rest are for my trading album.

To add to the above list:
"Hookneck - El Aguila de Perfil" by Hubbard and O'Harrow. Fantastic reference on 1823-1825 Mexican profile eagle coinage (Hooknecks). Includes die varieties from the 3 mints producing them (Mexico City, Durango, Guanajuato), patterns, etc.

I am intrigued by the lower rings too Bruce, do you have any links to photos? I might have to look out for one!
Boiler that pattern is simply stunning!
Here is a photo.... The middle ring is lower on the right side, also known as lower rings.
I never heard of "lower rings" designation for that 25 pesos before, so this made me go check the ones I have. 1 low , 2 high! Thanks for an interesting tidbit!

Thanks, Tom!!!

I agree, Chris. I am currently bidding on "CHOPMARKS" by F. M. ROSE. It would be interesting to trace the merchants that marked them.

Well, ok The most recent project I undertook is Charles IV of Spain year set, minted in Mexico City. Here are my latest acquisitions. The coin Jazzy posted on darkside forum still hunts my dreams, though
I could live without chopmarks, though...

I considered posting some of my recently acquired stuff, but it pales by comparison to anything that has been posted so far. I'll hold off until I get my hands on something worthy of this post
Post your most recent acquisition: World

Had no idea that a board member ended-up with my Canadian Set! I hope you like it, Rey. Nice image, too - I always had issues shooting proofs in holders. The best I could do was the auction picture and that was done by shooting at an angle and then re-adjusting the height of the image in Photoshop. With that method I managed to capture every hairline on the holder, though...
