If anyone missed this in my $20 bill thread, I thought I'd share it here

Michael,
! yeah, i dropped the ball there. Go ahead and PM me your phone number and i'll let YOU tell her. She can unleash her fury on someone other than me for once!
No thanks - I already have one wife to deal with She's wonderful, but I don't need the extra work.

My wife asked me a pointed question recently. "if you're after the more artistic and beautiful world coins, why would you limit yourself to gold?!" duh, she had a point. I'm starting to branch out a bit with other stuff, picking it up when it strikes my eye.
Doug
Doug, you should have looked her in the eye and said - "Oh my gosh! You're right! I didn't think about platinum before!" Then shuffle off mumbling, "Now where'd I put my credit card?"

Winston I agree with you. Its not likely to happen. In fact where I live is pretty quiet. Some robber hauling a safe off is the least of my worries.
That's what I would have said before I started watching It Takes a Thief.

Which means all it takes to steal it is three strong men and a dolly. I suggest that you bolt that baby in.

Here's one of my new purchases - a 1999 Silver Britannia 2P - NGC MS-69.
This coin is a bear to photograph since it's practically a reverse proof. I finally got the obverse to within 90% of what I wanted, and then I just flipped it and shot the reverse so I could stop for the night. Hope everyone enjoys! Thanks, gmarguli!

I really like the toning on the obverse of that coin. It almost looks like Liberty is looking at a star (the light-colored dot around 10-11 o'clock). Attractive rufous and green toning as well.

Thanks, Tom. I think it's safe to say I've improved quite a bit since I started taking photos of coins. I've gotten a bunch of good advice from y'all on the forum and that, combined with exaustive practice, has improved my skills.
By the way - did you get my PM, Tom?

Here's a proof Columbus Quincentenary Half Dollar that I picked up recently. I'm not a great fan of modern commemoratives, but I find that some of them which celebrate actual historic events to be very compelling - (as opposed to the world cup or the latest Olympics) thus I much prefer commems such as the 500th anniversary of Columbus landing in America or 100 years since the Wright Brothers' first flight. Anyway, I bought this coin in the original packaging for $13.50 - what I thought was a pretty nice deal. I also like the fact that it sort of goes with my 1893 Columbian Exhibition half. Opinions welcomed.

Nothing for sale yet, but maybe in the future. You're more likely to see me buying than selling these days.
