Been out of coin collecting for last 15 years but decided to buy silver when the virus started.
Bought lots of early commemorative silver dollars before I bought a Red Book and discovered that for a few dollars more I could get dollars with a mintage of 1-2% of the more common early examples.
One of these is the March of Dimes sets with the dollar and the W mint dime and reverse proof dime. The Red Book shows a mintage for the proof $1 at 32,030 but the mintage for both the dimes 74,430.
As far as I can tell, you needed to buy the 3 coin set to get the dimes so why are there 42K more of each dime than dollars?
