  1. Thank you for taking a look! That is good to know; I am not sure if the picture shows it but "half cent" is backwards, which is why I thought it was a clash mark; I am not familiar with flip over strikes can they cause that? Thanks for your help, I think I will be sending it in on my next sub! Edit: I messed up on the N but I think this shows the C is backwards; it is below the H and backwards Andrew
  2. Would this level of clashing constitute a new variety? Are there other examples known with this clash? I have looked extensively and been unable to find more information. The reverse seems to match that of a Cohen-5, in it's condition it's difficult to tell if the 6. It would only let me upload one picture but the branches are raised on the coin and the parts of "half cent" that are visible on the Obverse, in addition to being raised, are backwards, which would be expected with clashed dies. I've just never seen such an extreme example... is there.
  3. @Coinbuf- I ended up not sending in the quarter for the reasons you mentioned. I did submit the halves and if I am wrong then I guess it will be a learning experience. I am fairly confident they are DDOs because, as you said, there are splits on the serif. The other obvious indicator, imo, is the split on the base of the 4. @RWBI appreciate the resources. I think it is funny that they rules for the signs of what is a DDO change depending on when the coin was minted. Especially when it comes to copper coins in the mid to late 1800s. The flying eagle and IHP ddo's I have seen seem to have clear "shelves" which are indicative of some other cause of the doubling, o. I also wonder whether that 1920 isn't also die erosion and not "strike doubling" but who knows.
  4. I guess I'd submit it under the modern tier?
  5. Yes they make oversized holders; OP: not sure what you mean "what to ask for" can you clarify?
  6. I am preparing to submit a large number of coins including a couple that I think are double dies: 1 x 1945 s Quarter, and 2 x 1964 D Half. I am fairly confident on the halves but the Quarter makes me a little nervous as there isn't a recognized DDO for the date. https://imgur.com/a/NP9Jkcn I uploaded the photos to IMGUR instead of to this page due to file size constraints Thanks!
