Oops! A copper plate coating

Can you explain to me ,please that why is there's extra die material.which is letting and numbers,that appears to be floating around the coin surface.the term rotting zinc! Would it be rotting if it had received a copper coating?

Well the first miss it's copper plate.an it took a heavy die break,die crack! .close Am.the next one  I'm not sure it's iffy:).the last one it just looks nice.well I do appreciate all replies and viewing thank you.

Thank you! Sometimes I don't know no better.I went to Tulsa gold and coins .without knowing let them beat  me out of wheat pennies.2cents for each one.I had 1960 D and No MINT mark.large and small date.I was given 50 cents.:( so I'm learning.

I'm back Gm:) yes! I have put them in that order,to like see two coins seems so close.yet! One is a large and the other is a small.even in the second picture.the date 1982 .the 2 looked large date,because of the design of it. The 4 picture .1982.the 2 is looking more like the small date because the 8 .seemed like it had match the small date form.the 2 short tail not bulky or fat tail curvy..

What you don't know is ! When you are born into a world,then given two letters for a first Name .then add to the plantation last name .work until sun up to Sun down,maybe I make 5 cents for that week! So my bad that I couldn't go to a school at that time! Yet! When I got a chance,I went to NJ.So even then they had poor grammar education,still I learned to read and write! so when I say ,I can stop and smell the roses!
