Yarm, I believe Lot 15234 was a battle between two or three collectors with deep pockets. I was out at $500 and that was a stretch for me. Apparently everyone wants the Kangaroo type, and this was an especially nice one.
I am however delighted to have won the same token (D&H-424) that was buried in lot 15249. Granted it looks like it was harshly cleaned with a Brillo pad and then dragged backwards through a hedge but it's genuine (I hope) and it's mine. Any Pidcock collector worth his salt has the Tiger and the Kangaroo. I have finally joined that club.
I also won the MS62 Pidcock 416a which I needed. That was the only bargain to be had as I see it. I made a spreadsheet and the 24 Pidcock tokens plus the two uncertified lots and one Spence token totaled $8520.
$8520. Bring me my brown trousers!

Agreed that NGC has gotten much better at correctly identifying Conder tokens, but if you have a copy of the D&H reference and the time it's not exactly rocket science.
Conder, I replied to your PM, sorry I was late but my mom passed on 9/16 (her birthday at the age of 90) and I have been a wreck.

The Marshall Collection features over two dozen Pidcock's tokens, more than I have ever seen in one place before. And a few I need for my collection.
So no one bid against me, OK?
-
This is still my favorite NGC forum thread. Some of these Conders border on amazing.
-
I'm still interested Yarm.
And Condor, you're just mad because you used to pick up Pidcock's for $35 in AU. You were ahead of the curve.
If I have a design that you need (like the tiger or beaver) say the word and I'll call in sick, get it from the bank and take a photo. Oh, wait, I don't get sick days.
I'll do it anyway.

Beautiful Spence token in fantastic condition!

I also sent a note to the moderators. Looks like they cleaned it up! (thumbs u
Darn, I'm always late to the party......
Unless you are a fan of broken English and identity theft you missed very little.

Probably not a good idea to click on any of those links that new member haijun1122 provided.
-
It only took 7 years and 120 submissions to obtain a "RD" designation from NGC for a Conder token.

Sharp strike on that penny Yarm.

Brandon, I picked the link because it was excellent, including the photos. GOOD JOB! (Great idea including the link to the CTTC.)
I still misspell Conder as Condor sometimes, and English is not my second language.
I will be posting photos of a MS65 Pidcock's farthing (DH-1072) soon. I bought it from a forum member and it is just amazing.

While that may well be a coin with a Condor on it, I assure you it is not a Conder token.
Conder tokens are only from Great Britain and not from Chile.

Looks MS62 to me.

Beautiful Pidcocks 416b with probably the nicest rhino I have ever seen. Images are very good too.
Wish it was mine,
-
I actually like the DNW photo but feel yours are far more accurate.

I would say that's a keeper Bob.

Beautiful Conder with a great horse Brandon, very difficult to find them this nice.

Nice pick up HiHo!
Was that you bidding against me again Charlie?
Whoever it was wanted the token almost as much as I did. I spent two months of my coin allowance to get it. It was worth it though, and I don't even have it yet.
I wonder who won the other Pidcock, a very nice Middlesex 458 in excellent condition. As seen here:
I already own one but this was a little bit nicer. I was out at $300.
If I was rich I would have a hell of a Pidcock's collection.
-
Nice bit of research there Yarm!
However the Pidcock's farthings are just as important to the serious collector as the halfpennies and the only way to get the beaver.
-
Beautiful boldly struck token Yarm, and yet another great photo.
Here's a Middlesex Halfpenny that I won in a recent Davissons auction, a DH-428.
That's a zebra on the reverse, not an anorexic horse.
-
Great looking token nevertheless with a beautiful obverse.
-
Fine looking horse there.

Just popped in to see what Yarm had new.
I haven't seen a new Pidcock in over a year. Did I buy them all?
