I was a bit disappointed that the Registry did not include Braided Hair Large Cents (1839-1857) Complete Variety Set. I originally started out just collecting 1852 varieties, but found some to be nearly impossible to find in decent condition. So I started purchasing other dates/varieties that met my standards.
I know that completing such a set is nearly impossible, probably the work of a lifetime, if you are wanting the best or as best as you can afford. It would be wonderful to see such a competitive set listed for anyone like myself that enjoys this particular large cent type.
Anyone thought of collecting something like this? This definitely would be a good set for someone starting early in life. For myself, at 69, I never expect to get much more than maybe a 10th of the entire dates/varieties. For now I am stuck with doing a year set. CaleyAnn

Thanks, I kind of knew it was due to rarity/scarcity. Some are virtually impossible to obtain, as they reside in just a few collections.
Yes, I've already started an inventory over at the collectors-society.com website. CaleyAnn
