...oh the real question is...which is worse? the babbling or the whining....

...restrikes dont belong in registry sets as simple as that, just a means to pad points n outscore the collectors who collect the originals...in other words circumventing the integrity intent of the registry as it is supposed to be...the originals n the restrikes belong in two separate sets, simple a no-brainer...anyone that invests in bullion restrikes should realize the folly of their adventure...n not intrude into the collector base of the originals...u should whine elsewhere, no sympathy here....

...its called a .44mag....

...moral to this issue, only buy top-pop coins when buying foreign bullion gold coins n u never have to worry....

...aah, the trials n tribulations n thrills of the registry sets, n almost free if one doesnt consider the costs of the coins...who could ask for more?...i remember way back when i received my first registry set certificate for best in category, i momentarily thought bout framing it n having in placed on my wall...a few years later n the framing costs n having to build a new wall would exceed my pallet costs for the bullion...who knew that something free could cost so much?...glad to see u still enjoy ur ribbon though....

...this isnt a supply demand issue in the normal sense...there is an over whelming supply n a virtually non-existence demand, i personally do not ever see this situation changing...compounding this more so is the fact that the x-y-z generations collect nothing....

...agree, the 2c, 3c n early nickels provide a "playground" area for those that want to collect short sets n dont have the time, resources or inclination to get into the more complex series....

...im not even sure that the hobby is increasing in numbers of collectors period n find it difficult to believe there is now nor going to be an increase of collectors for moderns...at recent coin shows ive attended the volume of sales were bullion related by investors not collectors, the publishing of new reference books or price guides is not going to reverse this trend...i just this past week attended an estate sale where 200 plus mint/proof sets were passed by the auctioneer due to no bids over face value...i will be attending another such estate auction tomorrow where there r several type/date set albums assembled from mint sets, my max bid for these will be melt value of the silver n actually hope i dont get them as there is no market for the non-silver coins other than dumping them in another auction n hope they sell...im just not seeing any of this increased interest that u r promoting in moderns....

...do u find this to be true for both US collectors n foreign collectors or is it more one way than the other?....

...holey cow batman there may be a market in cork board futures here...i jest, but do commend u for rescuing these orphans, i have some similar coins that i just cant submit to melting that i place in type set albums when they fit, an international smorgasbord if u will....
