Nothing wrong with that, congrats

Thanks Bob. Looking at it now, the obverse could of been cropped a bit tighter, still remnants of the plastic insert. I'll end up re doing it.
You need to check your RGB also, those coins are blast white.

That toning is not boring, I have about 50 eagles, all blast white, thats boring
-
*WOW* that's nice

Wife got this 71-D Kennedy in her change yesterday.
It is her birth year. This coin has been circulating for 41 years!
Only 302,097,424 minted, grades oh.....Fine 12? Must be worth...oh.....50 cent?
She gave it to me, and said "Merry Christmas"
Not too shabby honey
OP
I'm amazed the clerk had the stones to give it as change.

Nice pick up, is that a die break on the obverse running from 7 to almost 1?
-
I was hoping for the dollar
-
what if I ran a torch over it too? A rare TONED 96-D?
Nah, someone might question its authenticity if you did that.
I guess that would be overkill

The Mint sure did pump out some nice halves in 96. Don't you think?
I'd sure be willing to hold that for you in my kennedy set for awhile
-
For all the hits on the lower torso the reverse looks unblemished, nice pickup

this thread is dead, he's never coming back (with proof anyway)
-

-
I think he got one in change last week

This is a response I received today regarding SixMileRicks successful attempt at finishing TPETERS dime set. I saw one coin in a group of 7 that would fill a hole in the set, I contacted him, after mailman1959 had already contacted him, I explained what was going on, and here is his response
Hi, thanks for the note. I think I got a message yesterday from the guy trying to help his friend. I wrote back and offered both the 1971 dime for the collection and the six others if they would help for bartering for the remaining one -- or perhaps to sell to help with medical bills. My dad passed away four years ago from cancer, too, so I know what the family is going through. Please let me know what to send, to whom, and where, and I'll try to get it mailed today. Very nice what you all are doing to help another collector. --Sean McCaffrey- sonorancollectibles
He is one of the good guys, just like all of you, if you are on ebay and see something from him, maybe send a note thanking him
I already contacted him saying Rick got them all, he has responded:
Very nice what you all are doing. If it ends up you need any of these coins, don't hesitate to let me know. Just message me where to send them. Will keep TPETERS and his family in my prayers. --Sean
You guys truly are great. It humbles me seeing how quickly you all responded and accomplished this.

I had the occasion to browse eBay this morning and spotted a great Quarter.
I don't collect them anymore - but knew a friend who'd love to upgrade his
example [ he has a 58 which I do not like ] and I loved this 58 immediately.
He laughingly shot back in a Text - no wonder you like it...
its your old coin...
Darn, if he wasn't right...
Guess if I liked it once, I'll like it again.
I have not posted too much recently - but I just saw that this Thread now has
100,235 Hits !!! WOW !
