Here are some new purchases for my type set project.
I'll probably send the Morgan out for an axial lighting picture eventually, it has amazing reflective surfaces. I haven't figured out how to take good axial pics yet.
A nice little gold half eagle...
And a silver bicentennial Kennedy half dollar, which completes the silver bicentennial mini-set for me:

Nice new piece for your horse collection Brandon!
Here's my latest... it's a very tiny piece of gold. Graded MS 66+ by NGC, and CAC'ed.

Nice one Brandon!

I just picked this one up at Teletrade's sunday night auction. Waiting for it to arrive in the PO Box. Technically it's graded MS 63, but it's an MS 75 in my eyes. I love the way the two marks above the L in "Liberty" make it look as if the word is on fire, mirroring the torch above it. Totally makes this particular coin unique.

I've successfully purchased multiple coins from jgrinz and schatzy. They always arrived well packed and looked great in hand.
Thanks guys!

Alan - I like your custom registry set graphics - nice touch!
Thanks General. =)

brg5658, that is a stunning half dollar. Thanks for sharing. =)

So, now for the $900 question, whatcha think?
I actually had that coin in my watch list for a while, for my First Year of Issue US Coins Type Set. It's beautiful. Let us know what it grades if you send it in!

Modern Coin Mart put these on a 10% off sale for the set. I couldn't resist, had them on my want list for a while. All the scratches and blemishes are on the holders, these coins are a beaut!

Arrived in the mail this afternoon. Definitely going to complete the 2010 set, we'll see what the mintages are set at before I decide if I'm going to collect the whole series.

I'm alanjoseph4 on eBay.

Alan, I love the presentation. I'm wondering how many lights you are using? Might need another as there are some dark areas that can be solved with another light.
Thanks. =) I am using two CFL lamps. I keep experimenting with lighting and lenses and zoom amounts and I can't get an image I'm happy with after looking through some of your guys' registries. So, I will probably end up paying one of the forum members to photograph my sets as I finish them, then replace my image attempts with the paid-for photos once the set is completed.

acan451,
Thanks! I really like it. The coin is quite special, there are less than 80 graded total. The "S" was mistakenly left off this dime in a few 1983 proof sets from the mint.

My first "acquisition" post! I got this for my Birth Year Set. I sent off two proof sets and both the P & D souvenir mint sets to NGC two weeks ago to be graded for the set, can't wait for the grades to post! This one I won at auction for $907, Numismedia lists its value at $1,100, population 54 with none graded higher. I'm very happy with it. And still learning to photograph proofs properly.
Latest *new* sets! April 2024

Hi Ali, could you add a slot for the 2014 and 2015 $50 1oz gold Canadian maple leaf coins to the Gold Maple Leafs - 50 Dollars (1 Ounce) set? http://coins.www.collectors-society.com/registry/coins/SetListing.aspx?PeopleSetID=180884
Thanks.
