    Hard to pay for
I bid on a fantastic coin the other day. Very surprised I won it and when I went to pay, Heritage told me that because it is over $2500 that I can only pay using my checking account.
I have purchased a handful of items from Heritage and I have never had any issues splitting up the purchase over multiple payment methods. They told me that it is clearly in their terms and conditions. I told them that nobody reads those things.
After telling them what I would have to do to complete the transaction. Basically they would have to wait 30 or so days for me to come up with the cash, they told me they would make a one time courtesy and allow me to split up the payment.
I have never seen a company get in the way of someone who wants to pay. The fees they incur for credit cards is a price they pay to have the ability to take those cards. If they are not happy about the 2-5% the cards charge then just dont accept them at all. Limiting how much you can pay on a card is just going to hurt them in the long run.
So I will soon be getting an awesome coin in the mail. Probably shipped in a priority mail envelope with some scratchy cardboard attached to the coin. A simple bubble mailer would be better but those they would have to purchase. They are having none of that!
I also have spoken to them about their shipping practices and explained to them that nothing about how they ship could be deemed a best practice. They are simply too big to fail so why change anything.

    Population 1
For years NGC has never given a pre-1976 coin a PF70UC. Something has changed either for the better or the worse to allow such a thing as my newest acquisition.
1974 10c PF70UC from the great datentype. I know I was not the first person offered this coin but I have to say I was the first to agree to buy it. He also submitted a 1974 50c PF70UC that will undoubtedly end up in a registry set as well.
Good luck to everyone in their collecting goals and Happy Thanksgiving!

    This is that exact moment.
Today I went and sold a few coins Ive owned for a couple years. I made money on all the coins sold so I decided to make my most expensive purchase to date. People talk about the exact time when they knew things were getting serious. When this coin comes in the mail and I add it to my set I will take the #10 spot. Ive had my eye on this coin for a few months, it is a 1964 NGC PF70 W CAMEO. It is the highest graded washington before 1974. Before I purchased it I did a lot of research and came to the conclusion that to take a top 3 ranking in the 1950-1998 Proof Washington set, you have to have every top pop possible. Now I alone will have the top pop for this year and maybe with some hard work and luck I might have a chance to get into the top 3. I have posted a scan of this coin for all to marvel and drool over as I have done for the past few months building up to today!

which of these would you choose?
I have a horrible dilemma. I have this beautiful coin with these really nice photos and I can not decide which photo to use as my display photo. I would love everyone's opinions and also your reasoning for why you would use this one or that one and so on. Its a terrible predicament to be in and I NEED GUIDANCE!
The photo on the left is from the heritage auction, the right is from the ebay auction and the bottom photo is the zoomed in to just the coin also from the heritage auction.
When I started collecting coins I never had any intentions at all it was just for fun but over the years my interests have settled on wanting the best. I never thought I could ever own a coin of this magnitude let alone afford one. This coin holds the auction record for its year and type as well has being the finest known example. It previously sold at Heritage for $2185 before making its way to me through ebay.
I enjoy collecting coins for their beauty and rarity as well as the competition involved with trying to have the best. This coin was on ebay for over 4 months before I talked myself into buying it as well as figuring out a way to afford it. I sold 25 ounces of silver and 1 oz of palladium to get this coin.
I still cant believe it was on ebay more than a week, but Im glad its in my hands where it will be displayed for anyone and everyone to see. Obscuring this coin should be a crime!
Good luck to everyone in your coin hunting and cherishing.
