New additions to my Modern Commemoratives

...and slowly getting to that 50% completed mark

Hello fellow collectors,

Just a quick little note on my latest addition to my collection...the 4 1983 Olympic Commemorative Silver Dollars.

These we the first of the $1 comms to be issued since 1900. And that being said, the Mint could of done a little better job. Even though the Olympics is a worthy theme, the design that was chosen for the obverse leaves a bit to be desired. I do like the bald eagle on the reverse though! On the obverse, the impression of motion just doesn't seem to come through. To me it just looks like the images are stacked on top of each other. Not a winning design...in my opinion...like some of the coins that would follow. But I am happy to have a set that reintroduced the $1 commemoratives to collectors.

Happy Collecting

Jeffrey
