for Silver MS and PF Kennedy's
Howdy Friends,
I received a reply to my inquiry regarding the increase in points for the 1992 S PF slot in the Kennedy half dollar registry. It went from 119 to 2750 points over the weekend so I sent off an inquiry to NGC asking if this was correct or an error. This morning I received two reply's that they have been making adjustments to the Kennedy registry lately and that there is no error.
So, I thought to check back on the history tab to find the others and discovered that all the silver issues from 1964 had point increases applied back in November. So it seems that NGC decided to single out the early silver coins in the series along with the 1992 silver issue for point adjustments.
The 1964 Kennedy was the only year that a 90% silver coin was struck and from 1965-1970 Kennedy's were struck in 40% silver then removed entirely until 1992 when the 90% silver proof issue was reintroduced.
Anyway, thought I would share NGC's response which only took one business day by the way! I have attached a photo of the coin a 1992 S Silver PF69UC graded by PCGS, the scratches you see are on the holder.
Happy Collecting Friends,
