nice....

Hello Friends,

Well, the last couple of months have been very eventful with many new additions and changes to my registries. I had three different Kennedy Half Dollar sets going at the same time, the 1964 to 1970 Silver Short Set along with the 1964 to Date PF and MS sets. It seemed to happen pretty quickly but has actually taken 6 years to get to the half way point. Recently, I have been considering some changes to my registry that would better reflect the series I'm actively collecting. An obvious one was to merge my Kennedy sets into a single set.

Today five new additions showed up for that set on the same day the 1986 P, 1988 P, 1988 D, 2012 P and 2012 D Kennedy Half Dollar examples all graded MS67 by NGC. Earlier this month a 1987 P MS67 NGC example arrived worth 820 points for my 20th Century Type Set and 437 points for my Kennedy Set. Other additions since the merge were my first MS Kennedy Bicentennial example graded MS66 by NGC and the 1979 S Type II, a 1986 S, 1990 S and 1991 S all graded PF69UC by NGC.

Also moved a few sets from my competitive registry to my custom registry including a MS66 Mercury Dime Short Set, a 1986 to Date, Proof American Silver Eagle Set and the set that started it all, my Morgan Dollar Set. There are some others but these are the sets that caused me the most indigestion. I broke the Silver Eagles into the 2006, 2011 and 2012 Silver sets along with the Burnished Mint State Silver Eagle Set. My newest addition to these sets is the 2012 S Reverse Proof Silver Eagle example from the San Francisco Anniversary Set graded PF69 by NGC. When I really thought about it these are the Silver Eagles that I am really after so I archived the rest to a Custom Set.

Also removed my Commemorative Silver Dollar and Half Dollar sets then though better of it and reinstated the Silver Dollar Set just in time to receive examples of the 1994 W Vietnam Memorial graded MS69 and the 1996 S National Community Service graded PF69UC by NGC.

I have attached a photo for your viewing pleasure that of the 1987P MS67 Kennedy Half Dollar. As of the 2nd Edition printing of the 2012 Guide to Franklin & Kennedy Half Dollars, only 120 examples have been graded by both grading services in MS67 with 1 example graded in MS68 by NGC out of a total mintage of 2.9 million that were only available from mint sets. Among the least rare of the 1980's Kennedy's in gem condition and typically having excellent strike characteristics, they are scarce and conditionally rare in MS67 grade.

In closing I would like to send out a big thanks to all the visitors to my custom set registry, over 5300 visitors to date and counting, thank you.

I can't begin to tell you how much I appreciate that,
