My collection is going to the proof side.

So many journal entries lately about selling off sets. Of course some are collectors but most are investors that have realized that the values of what they purchased has dropped. Soon will come the chance to get some nice coins for sets as so many people continue to try to sell their goods.

I have been in the club for years and see the trend on a yearly basis. I have always been interested in circulated coin sets but added a few sets with proof coins in them over the last year. The sets added were Proof Silver Eagles and Modern Commemorative. Not really my interest in coins but they were silver and they were for sale at a great price. Since the purchases of these sets around a year ago I still have 50% of the coins. Getting them at a great price they were perfect for selling or trading for mint state coinage later on.

I have kept all my sets separate lately as it does make selling and trading much easier with people only looking at sets that I wish to trade or sell. I have a major purchase coming this week that was going to my sales page this weekend. The deal has been going on now for 2 weeks or so and the more I think about the sets the more I want to put the sets on this page as G G's Keepers.

It really would have been nice to have found a partner that was interested in the proof sets I am going to get. The value of the sets will make it the largest purchase I have ever made since collecting. I was going to sell these at a great savings to everyone but it seems like nobody is purchasing nice modern proof coins right now.

So my decision has been made, the sets are very nice and will be added to this page ---"G G's Keepers". I will no longer be able to tell everyone that I don't collect proof coins.

I may offer a few sets on my sell or trade page but don't really know which coins will go there yet.
