MS PL Commemorative

Found this coin on ebay last week & couldn't pass it up.

I've been reading journal posts from members regarding coins sold on ebay still registered to the original seller and this is my 2nd experience with this situation. Interesting that both were commemorative coins the first being a 2005 P Marines PF69UC purchased earlier this year.

This was a "BUY NOW" purchase of a beautiful rare 1994 D World Cup MS69PL, only 1 of 53 graded by NGC. When I saw it I almost fell of my chair. Researching the Modern Commemorative points I found this is the only coin in a DPL or PL strike minted in the entire series and had it on my wish list.

The coin arrived I went to register it and got an error message that the coin was still registered to the original owner. The last time this happened it took a week for it to clear NGC before being added to my set. So this time I inserted a note in the feedback to the seller acknowledging the delivery and asked them to please remove it from their set. Within a couple hours it showed up in my set with the original description added for good measure, I believe it was the original owner?s description which also took me to school on how a proper description should look.

I eagerly await coins I?ve purchased and when I receive one it?s immediately added to my registry set. So it is frustrating to wait for coins to clear the process. However in this case the system worked very well and the seller acted quickly which I very much appreciated. Personally I would remove any coins I had for sale prior to listing them although I can understand a seller waiting until delivery is confirmed.

Happy Collecting All,

P.S. Here is the description NGC added with the listing and my photo:

Total Graded: 141141

Total Prooflike: 53

Percentage: 0.0376%

"Literally the entire population of graded proof like modern $1 commemoratives are all 1994D World Cup commemoratives. Almost all of these grade 69, and most of them have incredibly deep mirrors. They are quite attractive, and generally are rather affordable".

"Mine is incredibly deeply mirrored, and actually has traces of cameo on the devices. It is a very attractive coin".
