NGC Labels and Population Report
WOW a population of 1 and I have it!!!!!
Hello All
I was recently looking at acquiring one of the NGC graded Tuvalu Battle of Gettysburg coins. When looking at the coins on the popular internet sales site one of the things I do is use the NGC coin verification web site and then check the NGC population report. Having found a coin I was interested in I check it out and WOW only 6 listed as graded, now I have seen a few of this NGC graded coin for sale and this number seemed a bit low so I ran a population check on a couple other NGC Tuvalu Gettysburg coins and got a population of 70. It seems there was a slight difference in how they were labeled. The coin I was looking at that had a population of 6 was labeled as ?The Battle of Gettysburg? and it looks like 5 coins that were sent in at the same time + one other got that label. The coins with a label of ?Battle of Gettysburg? showed a population of 70 graded.
Along this line of NGC labels I also have a couple other interesting labels. One is a 2002 Canada $5 Maple leaf Loon 15th Anniversary coin with a label of ?Goose Hologram?. This coin when verified is listed with the 15th anniversary coins. Another Canadian coin that I have with a unique label is the 2004 Canadian Open Golf coin. The one I have is a population of 1 and labeled as Golf Championship.
There are several other interesting label variations out there and I hope you enjoy them when you see them.
Craig
