I bought an 1869 Liberty Quarter Eagle, the second coin purchse of the new year. Funny thing....

The first coin of the new year was an 1869 S Liberty Quarter Eagle. I was not shopping for 1869 but had some money to spend and that's what I found.

The 1869 S has a low mintage of 29,500. And the 1869 has an incredibly low mintage of 4,320!

This is the 1869 S PCGS AU53.
