Are you a Buffalo collector or a chaser? Do you, or will you have your 2009 Buffalos at the start of the release or will you chase them later. Once released Buffalos are hard to catch.

The avid collector wins every time. We research when our favorite coins will be released. We buy the coins because we are committed to the coin or type set.

Now look at the history of the 2008 Buffalo sets. Nobody was buying them. But if you were committed to collecting the coin because you have a passion or desire to own them you buy them. We buy them because we are collectors and desire to own one of each of them, not because of greed or monetary gain, we collect them because of the beauty we see in the coin and we want a complete set.

Time does pass and the US Mint publishes their population report and their future intentions. When the US mint sold out of the 2008 Buffalos and put out a press release stating that they sold out of the 2008 Gold Buffalos, They also stated that the mintages were low. They also stated thaat there will not be any further fractional coins in the future. We also learned that the mintage for the 1 OZ Proof was under 20,000.

Now the greed sets in, it drives the market crazy, and now everyone wants them. The collector just sits back holding his prize possion. He watches the chasers drive the price up, Now everyone is running out of coins people are trying to hoard.

Lesson learned, if we purchase a coin for the desire and the beauty of the striking we don't chase the market. We get it at retail cost. We never care that we own a valuable coin or what the mintages are. Were just are glad we have our prize possession.

We buy them because we are avid collectors. We wanted the coin for its beauty. The avid collector bought it when it went unnoticed by most of the world.

The avid collector will cherish that they own the coin for their collection, and will never sell it. The avid collector doesn't chase the market. Therefore I believe I'll buy the 2009 Buffalos when thier released.

Maybe it will do good. Maybe it wil be average But it will be mine. Besides I will never part from it anyway.

I also believe we just witnessed the birth of the 2008 Buffalos becoming more sought after than perhaps the prized 1995 W PF70 SILVER EAGLE.

I hope everyone hope everyone who was collecting them, got one. If you did I hope it's in a safe place.

Now lets watch the 2009 stampede.
